Data Protection

The protection of your personal data and your privacy is very important to us. If you contact us – such as by visiting our website or with a contact enquiry – we inevitably also come into contact with your data. This means that we “process” your personal data, such as your e-mail address or your name. Therefore, we would like to explain to you, what happens with your data and how we protect your privacy while doing so.
We use terms, such as “personal data” or their “processing” in accordance with the definitions in Article 4 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
During the course of continuing to develop our website and the technologies used, changes may also become necessary to this privacy policy. Therefore, we recommend that you occasionally read through the privacy policy again.
Our website contains links to other websites. We have no influence on the operators of these websites complying with the data protection regulations. Therefore, this privacy policy does not apply to them. We do not assume any liability for links to other websites.

Security information

We make every effort to protect your personal data using appropriate technical and organisational measures. The games-im-unterricht website supports line encryption via HTTPS and transmissions from the forms are also encrypted. When communicating via e-mail, online data security cannot be guaranteed. We therefore recommend sending confidential information by post.

When you access our website, your browser sends several items of technical data, which are logged by our server for technical reasons, particularly for ensuring the security and stability of our webpages. The IP address of the requesting computer, the web browser used and the operating system, the pages on our site that you have visited, the website, from which you are visiting us, and the date and time of access are recorded in a log file. During the course of this, the IP addresses are encrypted. The data in the log files do not have a direct personal reference and in no case will they be combined with any of your personal data which may be stored with us. These log files are deleted automatically after 60 days.
The processing occurs to provide this service and to fulfil our public duty in accordance with Art. 6 para 1 sentence 1 lit e and para. 3 sentence 1 GDPR in conjunction with Section 4 LDSG (Luxembourg Data Protection Law).

No cookies are saved to your computer when using our website, unless you are registered with us as a games developer or editor and have logged in. Cookies are small text files, which are stored on your hard disk and which send us certain information. Cookies are not able to execute programs or transfer viruses to your computer. They have the purpose of making our webpages more user-friendly and effective overall. We use them to fulfil our public duty in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit e, para. 3 sentence 1 GDPR in conjunction with Section 4 LDSG (Luxembourg Data Protection Law).
This website only uses session cookies with registered users. These are deleted automatically if you log out or close the browser. They store a so-called session ID, with which various requests by your browser can be allocated to a common session. This way, your computer can be recognised if you return to our website. You can configure your browser settings according to your wishes and reject the acceptance of cookies. However, in this case, it is possible that not all functions of this website can be used.

Registration on the site as a game developer

We would be very pleased if you would register with us as a games developer in order to contribute games to the Games-im-Unterricht project. To verify your legitimacy, we need personal data for the registration process, such as your e-mail address, surname, first name (optional), and institution. All of the information about the games and your expert quotation are voluntary contents. Avoid using personal data from yourself or third parties for this purpose.
The storage duration of your data is linked to the existence of your account and will be retained until it is deleted.
You can request the deletion of your data from us at any time (see Your rights).

Making contact

If you contact us using a contact form or e-mail, the data which you provide will be used for processing your enquiry and contacting you. The data will be deleted once we have answered your enquiry and if deletion is not in violation of any statutory retention duties. The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit a GDPR. The consent can be revoked at any time.

Recipients or categories of recipients of personal data

We treat your personal data confidentially. Disclosure to third parties will only occur on the basis of your consent, which is revocable at any time for the future, and only to the extent necessary for fulfilling our duties. We also do not pass on your personal data to third parties, unless we are legally obligated to do so, or on the basis of a decision by a court of law.

If inaccurate personal data are processed, you have a right to correction (Art. 16 GDPR). If the legal preconditions are in place, you can request the deletion or restriction of processing, as well as filing an objection to the processing (Art. 17, 18, and 21 GDPR). If you have consented to the data processing or a contract exists for data processing and the data processing occurs using automated processes, you may be entitled to a right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). If you have consented to the processing with an appropriate declaration, you can revoke the consent at any time for the future (Art .7, para. 3 GDPR). The lawfulness of the data processing which has occurred on the basis of the consent up to the moment of revocation will not be affected by this.
